Have you ever been frustrated by lost paper orientation checklists? Or struggled to efficiently manage the process of orienting new clinical staff? Lost orientation checklists, the need for competency-based orientation checklists, and a hassle-free documentation process inspired the creation of MedSoft's Orientation e-Checklists.
Our system produces job specific Orientation e-Checklists that include job-required skills, clear performance expectations, and references as well as validation methods and secure sign-off. The structure of the Orientation e-Checklists is based on an internationally-recognized system of standards--the Nursing Intervention Classification (NIC) System. This establishes a minimum standard of performance expectations for nurses where they are not already addressed in law, regulations, or specialty nursing standards.

Documentation and tracking are two critical functions required when orienting, training, and assessing staff competence. Managers, Human Resource professionals and other individuals with responsibility for tracking those in orientation as well as current staff with assigned requirements will find MedSoft's Dashboard Tracking Tool invaluable. Progress of those in orientation can be viewed in real-time to determine when training is completed and when new staff are prepared to take on an independent patient care assignment.
- Medtrack CCS Customizable Competency Requirement Task Pending

Beyond orientation, MedSoft CCS provides you with an efficient way to manage and document the ongoing assessment of staff competence in your organization. We provide the framework so that your educators and managers can input the required competencies and set timelines for completion. Clinical staff can then access a current list of required competencies and training needing validation as determined by your organization. Since the system tracks completion of requirements by employees, you will be able to produce the needed documentation when asked to demonstrate the competency of your staff to regulatory agencies.
- Just-in-time on the job Clinical Reference System
Nurses and other clinical staff repeatedly express the need to be able to immediately access references and information during their work. Rapid changes in technologies, procedures, and medications as well as current workload demands make it impossible for clinical staff to “remember” everything needed to ensure quality, safe patient care. MedSoft's robust Clinical Reference System contains needed job-related references, including standards, evidence-based practices, and learning aides that are organized by skill and competency needed in the job. Organizations have the option of training designated staff on-site so that they can continue to add and edit references.
